My Viewpoints

A Dedicated Follower of Fashion

I have recently discovered the impact of dressing well.

I make a big effort every day to choose clothing that will not only look good and stand out but also that looks unusual enough to interest other people.

I’ve noticed more and more that I get regular comments, often from complete strangers.

Most people don’t seem to give a shit anymore and wander around in track suits and shorts so when somebody does make an effort it stands out like “dogs balls”.

Until I got my weight back to “normal” dressing well seemed futile and impossible and I just didn’t do it. In actual fact I dressed like a bum and wore the same clothes day after day.

The trick is diversity and the way you put the clothes together.

Formal without formality.

More like an artwork than just putting clothes on. Patterns that conflict and clash but at the same time sort of work together. I’m certainly not talking about a conservative 3 piece suit and a pair of shiny leather shoes.

I must say that it’s always a blast to get a compliment from a stranger or for that matter, even somebody that you know.

Maybe I can be an inspiration for the other old boomers who don’t just want to become completely irrelevant as far as their appearance goes.
