I am losing faith in mankind

My attention is on mankind at the moment.

Every now and again somebody comes along who is brave, courageous and innovative. These people stand out from the pack and often get attacked. They usually think in first principles and as such do not rely on old data and speculations that may be flawed. Why build on shaky foundations? But the majority of the human race is so easy to convince to toe the line, to go to war, to jump like as dancing bear when their government or leader orders them to, to attack their neighbours who buck the system and to “dob them in”.

I have once again watched this all over again since the arrival of Covid.

It is sometimes hard to do your own research, especially if you have little knowledge or understanding of a new situation and it is certainly a lot easier to allow our experts and governments to supply us with their side of the story via the mainstream press. I have watched a brand new reality being created over the past 18 months. We as a society have become fearful of something that we know little about. This fear has made it simple for new information and orders to be imposed and to polarise society into an “us and you” scenario. “Us” being the patriotic majority group who bare their arms to receive a vaccination that may to a limited degree spur their immune system on to create antibodies to minimise their risk of being badly affected by this new virus. I must be honest and say here that even though I am attempting to understand what the different vaccines do to the body I still only have a vague idea. The underlying fact is that they are experimental and have been allowed to be used on people without fully understanding what the future implications might be.

From the stats that are being supplied to us I have to admit that it does appear that the vaccines are making some sort of difference in numbers  of people suffering bad effects but stats can be manipulated and even though they may be doing some good the chances of the side effects being worse are immense.

The human race’s attitude has become all about the cure and we have forsaken “the power of prevention”.

We have been hypnotised to believe that there exists a strata of our society that will protect us from evil, even if the evil is created by the status quo. That is easily forgiven. Weird isn’t it? It’s OK to create control, death and destruction as long as you offer some sort of promise that you can fix it up later down the track!

Us humans seem to specialize. If we don’t know about something we give the power to somebody who we are told has the knowledge that we are lacking. We trust out of necessity so therefore acts of immense destruction can be committed and have been committed especially in the past 200 years.

Are we on our way to extinction or glory?

Would we be complacent enough to allow our technology evolve to the point where “it” became conscious and could reason and innovate better that humans? We are dumb and needy enough to create A.I and let it serve us and slowly take over our lives. Any intelligence which isn’t compromised has the potential to do a better job that the “group think” and “vested interests” of us humans. The logical conclusion is the A.I will see the human race as a destructive force on the bigger picture of the universe and let it slowly become extinct. Do we feel that the universe would be worse off without the human species? The sad answer is that it wouldn’t make any difference, we as a race would be soon forgotten.

That is why we need logical, well reasoned, analytical, brave and courageous people who question the status quo.

We should open our ears and hearts to people who have an opposing view. It’s not a matter of taking sides, it is a matter of simply looking at different options and viewpoints and allowing free thinking individuals to delve into different possibilities and for our society to make it viable for them to do so.
