Veggie Garden Plan

My last vegetable garden was planted in the spring of 2015. I pirated a small part of our garden and started planting tomatoes, zucchinis, basil, artichokes, herbs and generally anything that was relatively easy to grow. That’s a picture of the beginnings of the garden in December 2015. I got up each morning and watered the veggies, looked at them, admired them and nurtured them. Overall it was a pleasant experience that I felt pretty good about. If I remember rightly it only lasted for one year and then my attention drifted of to other things. Now there is a tree up there and some nasturtiums growing wild. It became Georgie’s space. Yes, we have our own sections of the garden. We have very different philosophies on how a garden should look.

Now here we are 6 years down the track and I am contemplating giving it another go. We have chosen an area close to our kitchen, just up from our kitchen courtyard and next to the big lemon tree, to create a vegetable garden this year. I have to admit that it’s still just an idea but an idea that I really want to pursue. Until early June it was still covered in small trees and while it was covered it was also  a wasted and somewhat ignored space. The storms in June knocked down the trees leaving some pretty decent garden beds to grow veggies in. Georgie has another idea to build up our garden to create a raised herb bed, we may be able to get our all round carpenter and handyman Johan to get this done in the next few weeks. Now, if I am going to get this moving forward I am going to have to start planning pretty soon as spring is approaching fast and furiously.

Based on todays Victorian Covid 19 figures I predict that our lockdown will still be in full swing mid September. NSW appears to be out of control. No mainstream government or medical sources are sending out the message for people to do something, anything to get healthier. No mainstream TV or newspapers are producing any shows with messages that decreasing obesity, blood pressure using Vit D, C and Zinc could possibly help make us less susceptible to the apparent rages of Covid. All we ever hear is that we must get vaccinated. They keep telling us that the vaccines are safe and that anyone who says anything to the contrary is spreading misinformation. Could it be that saying that people are spreading misinformation is in itself misinformation. As far as I can find out, misinformation is defined as anything that is contrary to the manifesto being put forth by the WHO. Are they to be trusted?
