My daughter got some inside skinny re the proposed length of our current lockdown last night from a friend who has some sort of connection to the government. It looks like it’s going to run until the end of September which is 6 weeks away. It’s almost like we are living in an old Eastern European village and the grandmas have created a really scary story about some sort monster who is looming outside the village waiting to pounce on any of the kids who stray. Every now and again one of the old people dies and they tell everyone that the “monster” killed them while the village slept. It’s working pretty well but having a huge effect on the villages movement and finances. They can’t ‘fess up and tell the whole truth because they would loose not only face but also control. Anyway, that’s my analogy.
I had a really weird night. Firstly we went to bed too late … naughty, naughty. I slept like a baby until 2.30 am and then woke up to go to the toilet. Wide awake, I was. I felt like somebody had put a new set of eveready batteries into my “support system”. On top of this my feet were hot and throbbing. I had played around with a blue plastic ball with little spikes on it, looks like a sweet playful blue model of a coronavirus (it’s like the one in the picture but mine is blue). I had seen a podcast by a podiatrist who recommended rolling your feet on the ball for about 10-15 mins. I did this and found that it seemed to do something, stimulate the nerves in my feet and make sparks down there. Well, I think that I ended up overstimulating them because at 2.30 they felt alive and hot and throbbing. I didn’t even try to go back to sleep so I put on my headphones and listened to an Audible book until about 5.30 am. I think I finally went to sleep properly at 7 am and slept until 11. I felt surprisingly good when I finally got up.
The online Art Gallery has gone a bit quiet. I’ve had a couple of requests but when I write back there is no response. I need a bit of a strategy here, someway to elicit a response from these random people who seem so interested and then just disappear into the anonymity of the online ether. Both of the websites need work, I’ll talk to Trinidad. I have hundreds of photos of existing stock that I need to edit and get onto the sale page. As tempted as I am to continue creating to concept of selling art I think that the best thing to do is to sell what I can of the existing stock and call it a day putting my attention on something new and relevant that doesn’t create stress and cost money in the form of overheads and emotional commitment.
