Reality & Understanding 2021

Gary Collier Blog Reality

There are currently almost 8 billion people perched on a rock and spinning around a hot ball of energy which is also moving at a great rate. Whatever happens on our planet, good or bad is based oil the shared consciousness of the individuals who we share it with.

Reality is simply what we make it or more saliently what we can convince each other to be the right thing to do or admire or emulate.

Our experience and circumstances are unique to us as a group (mankind). That is unless the conspiracy theorists are right and ancient aliens are living amongst us, pulling the strings. The truth is that anything is possible.

I once read a book by science fiction writer, Isaac Asimov called “The End of Eternity”. In the book people were able to travel in time to the future through time tunnels. The history of the next several thousand years was known so they trained a group of technicians to go to a point in time to tweek some infinitesimal event, to change things ever so slightly but at the same time to alter reality from that point on. This of course would wipe out the current reality and consequently alter the lives of billions of people without them even being aware of it.

Gary Collier The End Of Eternity

That’s how fragile reality is. It seems to be based on mass agreement.

This could simply be reflected by the music that we want to listen to now, the clothes that we want to wear or the morality that we will subscribe to. Ever changing, fluid and random it always seems to be normal when it’s happening.

Whoever thought that mandating clinically and scientifically untested vaccines would be normal, whoever thought that trusting multibillion dollar corporations with our security and well being would be normal, whoever thought it would be so easy to get almost 8 billion people to agree to give up their freedom of speech, accept censorship and their apparent freedom in exchange for false security.

The facts are clear that there are many more and varied conditions or external forces that result in premature death. It’s just that they have become part of our day to day life. Over indulging in alcohol, eating junk food or for that matter highly processed supermarket food, car accidents, wars, health conditions like Type 2 diabetes and obesity. We just seem to accept these silent killers as part of life in the 21st century.

But now we have a virus that’s out to get us. Viruses have been symbiotic with the human species from time immemorial. Yes, it sucks. Yes, people are dying. But what are they really dying from? The virus sets off a series of events that result in our own immune system attacking our bodies. The more compromised that our health is, the more our immune system is weakened by poisons and bad diet, the fatter that we are, the more chance we have of suffering from the brutal effects of the virus.

What I have written above is only the prelude to what I am going to explore.

What I wonder about is “understanding”. Our individual willingness, based on our resources and socio-economic situation to spend some time trying to understand and learn about what is happening. Not from the perspective of our government leaders, nor from the drug companies, not from “experts” who rest on their laurels and credentials but from actual scientific studies. From all sides, all angles, all possibilities.

Most of us rely on popular media to get our data. This is a worthwhile article on information suppression to read although it was written in 2020 and things are now worse. Read article here. We started getting censored big time in late 2020 when facebook, twitter and youtube got together with UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport; the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism; Africa Check; Canada’s Privacy Council Office; and five other international fact-checking organisations to censor so called misinformation even pulling down discussions and articles by well respected scientists, doctors and researchers. What we frowned on in China just a couple of years ago is now happening all over the world (article).

My viewpoint is that we need access to whatever information is available. There will certainly be some crackpot ideas and data. Most of us are intelligent enough to be somewhat discerning about what we read and apply or find useful to help make decisions. The newspapers are full of dubious information that I would question, opinion pieces written by unqualified journalists that could possibly sway somebody to their way of thinking. That’s not saying that all newspaper articles suck. Every now and again you will find a well balanced and well researched article but often you will find articles on the same day that contradict each other.

Understanding

Although it’s not all that popular on a large scale and probably never was, I got involved in the philosophy of L Ron Hubbard 3/4 of the way through the 20th century. Two things that really impressed me back then were his concepts of what he called the ARC triangle and the KRC triangle.

I’ve found these concepts to be very simple and also very pragmatic guidelines in my day to day life. In relationships, education, involvement in groups and projects, solving problems and making decisions, handling upsets with others and countless other applications.

A triangle works well because it can easily get bigger or smaller, contract and expand.

The ARC Triangle

A= Affinity

R = Reality

C = Communication

The basic principle is that each of these 3 points will affect the other 2, both positively and negatively. To explain it in its most simple form you meet somebody for the first time and start communicating. Based on your observation and your ability to communicate you make decisions about what you can talk to the person about, this might be based on their appearance, their initial responses or what appears to be “real” to them. The more successful you are in communicating and finding points of agreement the more you will probably like each other. The triangle gets bigger and potentially bigger so your affinity increases. Then all of a sudden the other person says that they hate people from India, this isn’t at all real to you so your affinity crashes as does your willingness to communicate. You have absolutely no agreement, it’s just not real to you.You might even have an argument. The triangle contracts like a male scrotum after jumping into cold water.

The more you look at it the more you will find that this triangle applies to almost anything in life. Think about music. You might love jazz music but countless others simply don’t understand it, it seems far too complicated and boring. It’s all about communication, agreement and love or liking.

The KRC Triangle

This one is all about knowledge, responsibility and control. Once again, each point of the triangle is interdependent on one or more of the others. Let’s take the pandemic. Do you know what a virus is? Do you know how a virus interacts with your body and your immune system?

I’m sure you will agree that this constitutes knowledge. The more you know the more you can take some sort of responsibility and stop blaming the government or somebody else for exposing you to it. You might find out that most people who suffer greatly have a deficiency in Vitamin D and that taking 500 IU of Vit D each day can help protect you. You might find that the biggest risk factor is obesity and then look for some knowledge on how to lose some of the weight from your belly. This will put you more in control. hence the KRC triangle can expand, as it can also contract.

As with anything that is powerfully simple the intelligent application of this information is immense and unfathomable.

You sure as hell don’t have to believe in it, it is anecdotal and empirical. You can see it happening with your own eyes.

It’s just a tool and like any tool you simply have to learn how you can use it and practise, practise and practise until you get better at using it.

To Summarize

Who knows what the end plan is or even whether there is one but my observation is that something is going on and the goal posts seem to keep changing but society is accepting what they are being told so the level of understanding being built on what may be a false reality . The knowledge  that most of us are basing our decisions on is being fed to us by newspapers and mainstream media and more importantly our governments. Where are they getting this information from and what is the research that it is being based on? We are ultimately responsible for our own well being and the control that we are willing to apply to our own situations. Allowing any tech company or government to censor the communication lines that supply alternative viewpoints is a recipe for disaster. Allowing the mainstream press and government mandates and directives to polarise our society is also irresponsible. The willingness to tolerate different viewpoints and stay open to alternative opinions is crucial to a free and democratic society. The powers that be are using words like misinformation, conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers, covid deniers, “the experts”, “the science”, mandate etc as weapons in a veiled war to potentially take away our freedom to just live a simple, self determined life as opposed to a new reality of allowing them to control our lives, movement and freedom to think for ourselves.

So what I’m trying to say here is please attempt to understand what is going on, continue to search out knowledge and be as responsible as you possibly can for your own well being and freedom. Communicate your thoughts to others but at the same time remain tolerant to the viewpoints of others and try to love your neighbours even if you have clashing viewpoints. We cannot afford to lose our individual control over our own lives. Our governments are there to serve us, not to control us.
